Cal State Fullerton commit. Big, athletic 6-foot-3, 180-pound outfielder who has several present tools that caught our attention. After running a 7.02 sixty to start the day, the Cal State Fullerton commit showed off his hit tool during BP that saw him spraying balls to all fields on a line. Keeps his weight back and incorporate the lower half well in the swing. The fast hands and developing power allow him to get balls on the inside and put a charge into them - as demonstrated in-game when he pulled a ball down the line for a standup double. Defensively he showed a strong, accurate arm during the workout and didn’t have a chance in game.
2020 Bonita Vista (Cal State-Fullerton) OF/RHP, 6-foot-4 190 pounds, R/R. Raw tools on display, running to first at 4.22 seconds and singling to both left and right field. Opposite field ability and present power project well for advanced pitching. Made a strong throw from right-field on a play at the plate but bobbled the transfer. Outfield defense needs to improve. Baseball movements are present and will be a name to watch ahead of the 2020 MLB Draft.
Nankil showed well during all facets of the showcase especially during the batting practice and defensive portions. A gap-to-gap hitter with present power, Nankil uses a slight hand rock motion to trigger his swing that resulted in loud contact throughout his two rounds. In the outfield he showed a strong, accurate arm that should improve with added strength. The Cal State Fullerton commit plays loose and seemed to enjoy every minute of the event.
