8-1-2018: 6’0/185 pounds with a strong build and wide upper body, Reynoso has been a tough match-up all summer out of the pen for the Blue Sox. Features a three-pitch mix with two above average secondary offerings. Fastball isn’t overpowering at 87-89 mph, but has steep, downward plane from his high release. Showed the ability to get it to both sides of the plate. His sharp, 11/5 curveball sat 75-76 mph and had quality depth through the zone. An especially tough offering on left-handed hitters. Minimal hump on the pitch after release. His changeup comes out at 77-78 mph and seems to hit a wall as it gets to the plate. Coming out of hand with fastball arm speed, it showed late and sharp fade to his arm side. Punched out a right-handed hitter on a two-strike change-up and made him do a 180 spin on the swing. Reynoso may never light up the radar gun, but with the ability to be equally tough on both right and left-handed hitters, he could work his way into professional baseball if the secondary pitches continue to be a weapon for him.
