7/29/17 - Strong frame and pitches from a 3/4 slot with a back turn in his delivery. He gets riding life to his fastball, which sat 91-93 and he flashed a sharp breaking ball that he threw to the back foot of right-handed hitters at 79-83.
8/1/19: Highly touted as a prep recruit and drafted in the 29th round by Arizona in 2018, Bartnicki endured a tough freshman season for the Yellow Jackets (6.40 ERA, 32.1 IP, 46 H, 21 BB, 32 SO) this past spring. During my recent look, the 6-foot-4, 220 pound lefty was back on track, turning in an impressive, four inning start (3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO) for Chatham against Hyannis. With easy effort from a low three-quarter slot, he fired fastballs ranging from 89-93 mph. Above average life to the pitch with sink and armside action. Also mixed in two effective breaking pitches and a 83-85 mph changeup to right-handed hitters. One breaking pitch was a 75-78 mph slurve, the other, a shorter sharper slider at 80-81. He changed speeds, spotted and expanded to his gloveside with both pitches, keeping hitters off balance. Bartnicki profiles as a reliever at the pro level due to his arm action, low arm slot and the tough left-on-left look he presents on the bump. (Seifert)
2/24/19: Faced two batters during Friday's series opener and another in the finale on Sunday. In both appearances he was 88-90 mph from the left side with low three-quarter slot. Soph-eligible in 2020. (Seifert)
