Bombers (November 19, 2017)

Deluke measures a full bodied 6-foot-1, 231-pounds. The 1B/RHP ran an 8.10 60. Offensively- Sets up with feet shoulder width apart. Quiet timing; keeps weight on back foot through swing that gets on plane with the ball early. Exit velocity of 79 MPH; improved weight transfer through contact will help power potential.  Defensively- Even and balanced approach to ball. Smooth transition from glove to throwing hand with a hop into his throw. Recorded velocity of 73 MPH. Seems to hold back on release and could improve velocity with a stronger follow through. As a corner infielder, should be lower to the ground with setup and fielding position. Pitching- Middle rubber setup to small side step and tucked balance point. Arm action is long and stress free; slot at 3/4 with stride to arm side causing his pitches to float in that direction. Fastball peaked at 72 MPH. Curveball ranged from 65-66 MPH with earl slurve like action. Change up was consistent at 68-70 MPH with downward arm side movement. Young but strong for his age. Has potential to be powerful when mechanics catch up with his growth.
