A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Physical: 6-foot-1, 250 pounds; strong lower half. 8.51 runner in the 60. Offensively: LHH. Neutral stance with hands relaxed on shoulder; large weight shift with a quick pick up and replace action with his front foot. Active lower half, clears hips effectively with long swing path with quick hands that turn the barrel around quickly. Displayed some hard hit line drives to the right center gap along with some barreled balls up the middle; peak Trackman exit velocity of 90 MPH. Defensively: Gets off the bag into a position that allows him to move well laterally; standing up to field the ball, sometimes bending only at the waist. Clean field and throw process on the double play; 3/4 slot with good hand speed through the throwing zone. INF - 75 MPH. Pitching: Methodical in his delivery with explosive movements through the throwing window. Long, loose arm path with above average hand speed. FB: T 77 MPH, 76-77 MPH. Throws a low spin fastball that would work best in the bottom of the zone. CB: 65 MPH. Curveball has good action to it, dropping down just before the plate. CH: 72 MPH. Changeup does have similar spin to the fastball which is good, it does depend on the spin axis to know if it is truly an extremely effective pitch that mirrors fastball.
