Physical: Compact, athletic 5-foot-8, 160lb frame. 6.96 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Bent, even stance into the legs as the hands operated calm at the shoulder. Utilized a toe tap stride, holding his ground, to initiate the swing through a flat, direct path into the hitting zone. Line drive approach with contact skillset, repeatedly finding green to both gaps. Recorded a T84 mph bat-exit velocity and showed a strong top hand at impact. Lived on the barrel for a 60%+ sweet spot rate.
Defensively: The shortstop sat down on the ball with soft hands and choppy footwork towards the target. Quality footwork when ranging to backhand side, finished reps with 72 mph arm strength and H ¾ release. Made the play on the run across his body.
Pitching: RHP - The righty demonstrated a crossfire delivery with slower tempo, and landed upper-70’s FB to all quadrants for strikes. Mixed developing 67-71 mph CB and hard-fading 73-75 mph CH that projects as above-average.
2/13/22
Physical: Compact, lean and twitchy 5-foot-7, 155lb frame with burst in his step. 6.83 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wider, even stance with the knees slightly bent as the hands started calmly at the shoulder. Utilized a knee-knock stride to initiate the swing through a flat path with minimal effort towards a one-handed finish. Recorded an 83 mph bat-exit velocity with efficient feel for the barrel in the box. More to come strength wise and a future home at the top of the order.
Defensively: The middle infielder showed adequate footwork and made up for it with quality hand-play. Covered ground to his glove-side, able to shift the hips/shoulders back to even on 83 mph throws across the diamond.
Pitching: RHP - The righty started off of the left side of the rubber with above-average pace in the delivery and a compact move down the slope. The arm worked on time out of a H3/4 slot as an 82-83 mph FB held the catcher’s glove side of the plate. Mixed a 2600+rpms CB with wipeout, two-plane shape at times, creating a good angle into the zone. Countered with a killed 76-78 mph CH as the third offering.
