Mills jumped onto the scene in April when we saw him at the Evolution Baseball Scout Day, and that success continued into the month of May. At 6-foot-1, 165-pounds, Mills runs his fastball up to 84 mph from the left side and showed the ability to do damage at the dish as well. At the Bantam Best of the West in early May, Mills was a standout on both sides of the ball showing his abilities as a two-way player during game action against some of the best competition in the county at that level. The 2027 is one of the top players in the province and he’ll be someone to keep tabs on while both on the mound and at the dish.

One of the top bullpens of the day came from 2027 Josh Mills. The athletic lefty has a quick arm and filled the zone with all 4 of his pitches. Mills sat 81-83 mph with the fastball, topping out at 84 mph. He offers two unique breaking balls, a slider that moves more laterally, and a curveball with slightly more depth to it. Although still a developing pitch, his splitter has the makings to be an effective swing & miss offering as he tunnels it well off the fastball while also killing spin and induced vertical break. As one of the top arms in Alberta’s 2027 class, Mills will be one to follow over the next couple years.
