The 6-foot, 180-pound, athletic-framed first baseman was a standout performer Saturday. The L/L first baseman went 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI out of the three-hole for Game Seven. Thompson displayed a smooth, easy stroke that stays on the barrel and induces power. A bat to follow the rest of the weekend.

OF Trey Thompson (Bloomington, 2024) is a left/left uncommitted prospect with athleticism and sneaky twitch to his game. Thompson’s most impressive moment of the event was when he got the head out and lined a home run over the right-field wall that left the premises in a hurry and got no more than 15 feet off the ground.

Uncommitted. Lean, long legged, 6-foot-2 left-handed hitting outfielder. Thompson started in left field for both games. Stands tall in the box, narrow setup, open stance, hands are held high with a vertical bat angle, loads into his back leg, uses a short stride to get back to even. Athletic hands, smooth, repeatable swing, spray-type hitter to all fields. Picked up two hits on the day, both coming in the second game. Drove in two runs as well.
