Quick Hits - Underclass

+ Treagan Orr, 2027 RHP - The incoming sophomore shine on the mound during the Live Game Play portion of the Idaho State Games, running his fastball up to 84.8 mph with life. His secondary mix has improved in shape with lower spin rates that lead you to believe their is much more still in the tank for the Madison product. This will be an intriguing one to follow over the next few years.

+ Sam Chappell, 2027 IF - The Sugar Salem product has seen his game continue to trend over the past year with present, advanced feel for the barrel that was on display during his line drive filled batting practice session. The standout BP Session translated in game where he racked up a  pair of barreled line drives, one being a double to left-centerfield. Chappell also flashed improved defensive actions up the middle with progress in his lateral range as well as fluidity through the fielding process. This projects to be another big bat in Idaho's talented 2027 class.

+ Tav Hiaring, 2027 C - The 2023 Junior Future Games alum continues to prove himself as one of the top backstops in Idaho's 2027 Class. Hiaring put his improved strength in his hands and forearms on display, proving he can handle velo and steal strikes as he works up through the ball. Progress in his flexibility and set up allow for a lower starting point in his set up and leads you to believe that he will continue to trend as a high level catcher in the coming years.

+ Kellen Viehweg, 2027 RHP/OF - The Prep Baseball Verified 6-foot-3, 200 pound incoming sophomore came into the Idaho State Games as an "arm to watch" and he did not disappoint. The middle product saw his fastball run up to 85.4 mph via TrackMan with present downhill and his secondary mix flashing some tunneling action that proved effective during his outing. Keep this incoming sophomore on your radar as one of the next arms to attract some serious attention out of Idaho.

+ Dallin Snooks, 2026 OF/LHP - The two-way had himself an Idaho State Games, impressing on both sides of the ball as he produce multiple personal bests including TrackMan Exit Velocity - 96.1 mph, Blast Peak Hand Speed - 21.5 mph, Swift 60 Time - 7.13, TrackMan Fastball Velocity - 84.4 mph. This trend of improvements could be attributed to his obvious physical strength gains on his Prep Baseball Verified 6-foot-2, 185.9 pound frame.

+ Kai Benfield, 2027 OF - The Madison product shined on Day 1 of the Idaho State Games where he earned the top outfield velocity of the event at 87 mph. His standout performance in the outfield followed up a line drive filled batting practice session with flashes of power potential, especially to the pull side, that proved he will be a player to follow in Idaho's 2027 Class.

+ Treyson Walker, 2028 IF/RHP - The multi-sport athlete showed off his advanced, easy actions on both sides of the ball at the Idaho State Games. The son of College of Southern Idaho Head Coach, Boomer Walker, put his high baseball IQ on display throughout the event with present feel for his quiet, simple LH swing that consistently found the barrel throughout his BP Session, then hopped on the mound during the Live Game Play portion of the event and proved his ability locate each of his three pitches in the zone with velocity to come.
