On June 2, we had a Scout Day with Primetime Aces baseball in Northern Virginia. Here are detailed notes and video on some of the standouts from the event:

JD Bowden SS / RHP / Alexandria City, VA / 2026 Bowden is a true athlete on the field. The ‘26 is 6-foot, 183-pounds. He ran a 6.96 60-yard dash and had an 81 mph infield velocity. Bowden shows promise to have higher-end speed and fielding tools. His quiet load and stride lead to a smooth swing path, generating power gap to gap. On the mound, he topped 83 mph. His low three-quarter arm action helps create some armside run. Bowden is a really solid athlete who will be interesting to watch as he develops.

Kailen Hackmann RHP / OF / Washington Liberty, VA / 2025 The ‘25 showed off his four-pitch mix of a fastball topping at 91 mph, cutter, slider, and changeup. He showed a solid feel for changing speeds on his pitches. His slider is his best secondary pitch, hidden well by his fastball, with an average of -15.8 in. of horizontal break. Hackman is a physical presence on the mound at 6-foot-5, 203 pounds. He has a three-quarter arm slot and displays well above average arm speed to help generate some of his velo.  Heading into his senior year, Hackman is one of the top uncommitted arms in the state, with more room to grow.

Leo Holt C / SS / Yorktown, VA / 2026 Holt had an impressive day all around. In his bullpen, he displayed a three-pitch mix consisting of a fastball, curveball, and changeup. Standing at 5-foot-8, 146 pounds, Holt topped his fastball at 83 mph. He changes speeds well, and his secondary pitches show promise to be out pitches. His changeup stood out, averaging 21.4 in. of horizontal movement and a high spinning 12/6 curve. He has a controlled delivery with over-the-top arm action. He gets down the mound and moves well. Holt is also a catcher. His best pop time was 1.99 seconds, and at the plate, he had a maximum exit velocity of 89 mph. Holt is a solid utility prospect, as he showed some solid data points.

Jack Keane RHP / 1B / Washington-Liberty, VA / 2025 Keane stood out as a player with two-way potential. On the mound, the ‘25 ran his fastball up to 91 mph with arm-side run and had an out pitch in his curveball, averaging 2382 RPM. He has a controlled delivery with a short, three-quarter arm slot, with lots of strength in the 6-foot-3, 216.4-pound frame. Keane has an effortless swing fueled by his hand speed. He had pop in his bat with a 98 mph top exit velocity while averaging 91 mph. Keane showed speed by running a 6.89 60-yard dash. Keane is uncommitted heading into his senior season, showing promise in his bat and arm.

Jack Rubin 1B / OF / Yorktown, VA / 2025 At 6-foot-5, 205 pounds, Rubin showed high-end power at the plate. He had a maximum exit velocity of 97 mph and a maximum distance of 338 ft. Rubin has a quiet load and toe-tap stride. He uses his backside to generate power and elevate the ball. Rubin ran a 6.91 60-yard dash. He is the 6th ranked ‘25 first basemen in the state and is a player to watch with some present power.

Hank Thomson 1B / 3B / Washington Liberty, VA / 2026 Thomson is a ‘26 graduate who showed above-average power. He has a controlled swing, letting his quick hands do the work with solid bat speed. He does a nice job getting into his legs, allowing him to turn on the ball easily. Thomson had a maximum exit velocity of 93 mph. He has a 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. Thomson has a smooth swing that has potential for power production in the future.
