2024 Prep Baseball Mississippi Player of the Year: Konnor Griffin

After a strong 2024 high school baseball season, Prep Baseball has announced its Player of the Year in the state of Mississippi. Last year, Magnolia Heights Cooper Pratt took home the honors of Prep Baseball Mississippi Player of the Year. This year, the honor goes to OF/SS/RHP Konnor Griffin, a Louisiana State signee and the No. 1 propect in the 2024 class in Mississippi.

 

2024 PREP BASEBALL MISSISSIPPI PLAYER OF THE YEAR

After a remarkable senior season that was capped off with Jackson Prep's 7th consecutive MAIS 6A State Championship, LSU signee Konnor Griffin has been named the Prep Baseball Mississippi Player of the Year. One of the top high school draft prospects in the country, Konnor led the Patriots in several categories on both sides of the baseball this past spring and helped lead Jackson Prep to a 39-4 record and yet another MAIS State Title.

At the plate, Griffin posted a .559 batting average, .690 on base percentage, and a .966 slugging percentage. Konnor collected a total of 66 hits, 13 doubles, 4 triples and launched 9 homeruns, while driving in 39 RBI's. Offensively would break school record's as he scored 76 times this spring and stole 87 total bases and was successful 98% of the time he tried to steal. Griffin also reached 47 times via a walk this spring as well. On the mound, tallied 67.2 innings en route to a perfect 10-0 record with a 0.72 ERA. Over the span of those 67.2 IP, he would collect 107 K's and hold oppenents to a .128 average.
