EVENT HISTORY

The Milwaukee Summer ID, previously known as the Milwaukee Open, has annually housed some of Wisconsin’s top prospects to begin the summer showcase schedule.

Last year, multiple standouts emerged from the Milwaukee Open with the help of strong performances at the respective showcase, as this year’s roster looks to provide a similar showing.

OF Max Johnson (South Milwaukee, 2024; Wisconsin-Parkside commit) went on to enjoy a strong summer after excelling at The Rock, later committing toward the end of the summer. Johnson provided exit velocities in the low-90s during the BP session of his outing, all while showcasing quality footwork and a strong arm from behind the plate. Afterwards, the graduated senior earned an invite to the Top Prospect Games in Milwaukee later that summer.

OF Bennett Karolewicz (St. Thomas More, 2024; Saint Mary’s - MN) and C Parker Schwake (Wauwatosa West, 2024; Ave Maria University) are a pair of commits who emerged as two of the top prospects during the 2023 event, both announcing their commitments at the end of the year after gaining momentum in their play within the spring.

Lastly, C Bennett Cagle (2025) and INF Bradley Check (2025) recently showed well at the State Tournament, as each uncommitted junior provided some pop at the plate. They did so at the 2023 event as well to get on our staff’s radar—maintaining their momentum throughout the 2024 season.

2024 ROSTER

The 2024 roster is shaping up to provide our staff with more looks at some of the top prospects in the Badger State, as a solid roster of players will be making their way to The Rock on Tuesday.

After an eventful spring, our staff is excited to get multiple looks at some of the arms in attendance after their spring campaigns. RHP’s Ryan Buchta (Oak Creek, 2025) and Paulson Yesbeck (Elkhorn Area, 2025) are a pair of uncommitted juniors who continue to see improvement in their game as they develop into upperclassmen. Buchta recently threw at the State Tournament—taking on a vital role for the Knights on their pitching staff. Yesbeck elevated his status as a name-to-know at this event in 2023, as he touched 85 mph with the FB at The Rock.

RHP Nick Stellrecht (New Richmond, 2026) will be in a showcase setting for the first time since 2022, as the right-hander made his way into our staff’s Diamond Notes throughout the WIAA season—elevating his game in the Big Rivers Conference. Stellrecht has been clocked in the low-80s in previous looks, as our staff is intrigued to witness his development on Tuesday.

OF/LHP Evan Cichanofsky (Bay Port, 2025) and C/OF Laliwa Delgado (West De Pere, 2026) are a pair of uncommitted prospects who will be traveling from the Green Bay area to take on the Milwaukee Summer ID, fresh off of quality spring seasons for their respective high school programs. Cichanofsky provided a couple of clutch hits and RBIs in the middle of the Pirates’ order, a group that found themselves in the Power 25 rankings toward the end of the season. Delgado was more of the same as a utility piece for the Phantoms, as he will look to maintain his momentum over the summer circuit after emerging as a varsity starter in just his sophomore season.

To round out the roster, OF Eli Francour (Greenfield, 2025) and OF/RHP Tate Robillard (Kettle Moraine, 2025) each enjoyed quality junior campaigns for their respective high school teams, as they emerged as top uncommitted names-to-follow in Wisconsin’s 2025 class. Francour showed well in his first showcase at the Milwaukee Preseason ID—including a strong BP session with max EV’s in the low-to-mid-90s. Robillard emerged as one of the aces of the pitching staff for the Lasers in a tough Classic Eight Conference—looking to carry that prowess to The Rock as an uncommitted junior.

INF Damen Lonstine (Cedarburg, 2027) is a scrappy middle infielder who made his presence known on the varsity stage for the Bulldogs in 2024. He showed well in the winter right away, and has developed into a quality underclassman in an under-the-radar fashion within a loaded 2027 class.
